How to calculate parlay odds
A parlay pays only if every leg wins, so the odds of each leg are multiplied together. The simplest way is to turn every leg into decimal odds first:
- Positive American odds: 1 + odds ÷ 100 (so +150 is 2.50).
- Negative American odds: 1 + 100 ÷ |odds| (so -110 is 1.909 and -120 is 1.833).
- Fractional odds: 1 + the fraction (so 3/2 is 2.50).
Then multiply the decimal odds of all legs and multiply by your stake. That is your total payout. Your profit is the payout minus the stake.
Example: a 3-leg parlay with a $10 stake
| Leg | American | Decimal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | -110 | 1.909 |
| 2 | +150 | 2.500 |
| 3 | -120 | 1.833 |
1.909 × 2.500 × 1.833 = 8.75. A $10 parlay pays $87.50 in total, which is $77.50 of profit, or +775 in American odds. The odds imply this parlay hits 1 time in 8.75, about 11.4% of the time.

What happens when a leg pushes or is postponed
At most sportsbooks, a leg that pushes, is voided or is postponed is simply removed, and the parlay is paid on the legs that are left. A 3-leg parlay with one push becomes a 2-leg parlay. Rules vary by sportsbook and by sport, so check yours. In the calculator, set that leg to Push to see the new payout.
Why parlays are hard to hit
The chance it hits shown above comes from the odds themselves: 1 divided by the parlay's decimal odds. Sportsbook odds include a margin, and in a parlay that margin is paid on every leg, so it adds up quickly.
Take three coin-flip bets at -110. The odds say each one wins 52.4% of the time, but if each is really 50%, the parlay hits 12.5% of the time (0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5) while paying 6.958 for 1. Over many bets you lose about 13 cents per dollar, against about 4.5 cents on a single -110 bet with the same 50% chance.
That is why the calculator lets you enter your own win % for each leg: with all of them filled in, it shows your chance that the parlay hits and your expected profit at that stake.
FAQ
How do you calculate parlay odds?
Convert each leg to decimal odds, multiply them together, and multiply the result by your stake to get the total payout. Subtract the stake to get the profit.
How much does a $10 3-leg parlay pay at -110 odds?
Each -110 leg is 1.909 in decimal odds. 1.909 × 1.909 × 1.909 = 6.958, so a $10 parlay pays $69.58 in total, which is $59.58 of profit (about +596 in American odds).
What happens if one leg of a parlay pushes?
At most sportsbooks a pushed, void or postponed leg is removed and the parlay is paid on the remaining legs. Rules vary by sportsbook, so check yours. In the calculator, set that leg to Push.
What does the chance it hits mean?
It is the chance that every leg wins as implied by the odds you entered (1 divided by the parlay's decimal odds). Odds include the sportsbook's margin, so the real chance is usually a little lower. If you enter your own win % for every leg, the calculator also shows your chance and expected profit.
