How we work
How We Write Our Game Pages
Odyn's game previews, recaps and betting pages are written by the Odyn Team. Here is what they contain, where the facts come from and how we check them.
Facts only, from the latest data
- Previews use official league data for schedules, records, team and player stats, and the teams' injury reports.
- Odds and the "win probability from the odds" come from a major US sportsbook's public lines, with the margin removed. They are the market's view, labeled as such, not Odyn's model.
- We don't invent quotes, streaks or storylines. If a fact is not in the data, it is not on the page.
Checked before every update
- Before a page goes online, every number in a preview is checked automatically against the latest data, including who each number belongs to and every player listed out or doubtful.
- Pages are updated every day. Injury statuses and lines change up to the start, so previews are refreshed when they do.
- After the game, the same page becomes a recap with the final score. The preview stays below it, marked "Written before the game".
Picks and results
- Odyn's AI quant model posts its bets for members before each game. Today's picks are never published on public pages.
- Once a game is settled, its bet and result are public, wins and losses alike.
